Our Mission As development in Chennai takes place in leaps and bounds, the slum populations have been allowed to proliferate in similar fashion, overlooked by a top-heavy development. Trying to make ends meet with the meager resources available to them, the slum populations continue to live under sub-par health and socioeconomic conditions. It is with these unbalanced circumstances in mind that New Life Welfare Society has dedicated its resources to improving the overall quality of life of the slum population in Saidapet, Chennai, with special emphasis on the women and youth. The methods we implement involve integrated strategies including but not limited to: networking, collaboration, community mobilization, and community participation. We strive to keep all our activities gender-sensitive, respecting the tradition and the rights of women and children. Our Vision We endeavor to improve the health and socioeconomic conditions of all people living in the slums of Chennai, so that there may one day be a new dawn, a new life for them. In this life, unpardonable socioeconomic disparities will be a relic of the past, and the people living in the slums will finally be able to enjoy all the rights promised to them under the Constitution of India.
